SEEN ON THE SCENE: Fans of Sting were thrilled to spot the legendary entertainer dining at Gene & Georgetti’s River North restaurant — currently celebrating its 75th birthday. … While in Los Angeles recently, Alex Dana ran into Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman, where the two men chatted about Hoffman’s 2014 film, “Chef,” also starring Jon Favreau, who directed the movie as well. In “Chef,” Hoffman plays a fairly temperamental restaurant owner — while in real life Dana owns nine Chicago-area eateries, including the popular group of Rosebud restaurants. … There was plenty of celeb activity at Davenport’s in Wicker Park over the weekend, as Lucie Arnaz performed, as part of the Midwest Cabaret Conference, and was cheered on by none other than multiple Tony winner Tommy Tune. … Appearing this week at Davenport’s (Wednesday through Sunday) will be acclaimed singer and actress Andrea Marcovicci. … Recent sightings at Harry Caray’s on Kinzie have included Harry’s grandson, Chip Caray and his wife Susan, plus (separately) the Braves’ second baseman Jace Peterson, who was joined by his family member Mallory Pugh, who is expected to be announced as the U.S. soccer team for the upcoming Rio Olympics. … Yes, that was A. J. Pierzynski and (separately) Alice Cooper — sighted dining at Foodlife at Water Tower Place. … Things were hopping at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap on the Gold Coast Monday night as Adele partied with pals after her Chicago concert at the United Center. The superstar herself was the first to arrive at 11 p.m. and hung in there until just before 1 a.m. … Earlier in the day, the singer was spied at Bar Toma on East Pearson, enjoying a pepperoni pizza, “Chicago shrimp” and some veggies with her young son. … Another recent Jake Melnick’s sighting was Donovan McNabb, seen chowing down on fried pickles — plus hot wings, fish ‘n chips and lots more goodies. … The Sox’s pitcher Carlos Rodon was seen getting his tiki bar fix at Three Dots and a Dash. … Superstar Adele, in town for her concerts here, was spied leaving Bar Toma on East Pearson Monday, after enjoying a pepperoni pizza, “Chicago shrimp,” some veggies with her young son. …Bub City sightings have recently included former NHL player Jamal Mayers. … Over at RPM Steak, “Empire” fans loved seeing Terrence Howard on several occasions, while the popular steakery also hosted the Warriors’ Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha. … Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan checked out RPM Italian, as did the Sox’s James Shields. … New gourmet hot spot was the restaurant of choice for “Chicago Fire” star Jesse Spencer the other night. … John Cusack was seen quietly dining at Biggs with a crew of pals. … Tavern on Rush was the place where Def Leppard bandmates were seen dining, while in town recently. The same went for the Yankees mainstay Alex Rodriguez. … During the hiatus from “Saturday Night Live,” the show’s Pete Davidson was in town — spied dining at RM Champagne Salon in the West Loop with a large crowd that even included his mom.
