A 31-year-old man died two days after he was shot Thursday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Marcus Jackson Jr. was in the 5500 block of West Congress Parkway at 2:51 p.m. Thursday when someone approached him and fired multiple shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jackson Jr. was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 8 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. He lived in the Austin neighborhood.
