An 18-year-old man was shot to death in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side Tuesday night.

Trevonne Austin was in an alley in the 5700 block of South Calumet about 8:10 p.m. when someone walked up and shot him, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Austin, of the 7900 block of South Aberdeen, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. from a gunshot wound to the trunk, according to the medical examiner’s office.

His death was ruled a homicide.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
