A man was shot and critically wounded early Monday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 12:40 a.m., the 34-year-old was on a front porch in the 700 block of South Karlov when he got into an argument with another male, who pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the groin and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
