A man was shot and seriously wounded early Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 34-year-old was outside about 5 a.m. in the 6800 block of South Crandon when he heard gunfire and felt pain, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

He was shot in the back and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
