A 19-year-old man was shot while driving in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side Monday.

He was driving a vehicle in the 6000 block of South California Avenue at 7:35 p.m. when someone standing on the sidewalk fired shots through the back window before running away, police said.

The man was shot in the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said.
