Police are warning Southwest Side residents of three recent robberies in the Chicago Lawn and Marquette Park neighborhoods.

The suspect approaches a victim from behind, grabs them by the shoulder, and demands their property, according to the community alert from Area Central detectives.

The robberies happened:

  • about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the 7100 block of South Talman;
  • about 1 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 3500 block of West Marquette; and
  • about 4 p.m. Sept. 18 in the 6700 block of South Kedzie.

The suspect is described as a black man 18-32, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, and 135-145 pounds, police said.
