Two shot in Austin

Two men were shot Wednesday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 12:59 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Concord, according to Chicago Police. The men, ages 21 and 34, were standing on the street when they heard gunfire and felt pain. Both ran to North and Leclaire avenues after the shooting.

The 21-year-old was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said. The older man was shot in the right hand and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park in good condition.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
