MIAMI — The White Sox recalled right-hander Chris Beck from AAA Charlotte and, as expected, placed right-hander Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled with a strained right groin.

Beck, 26, who was on the 25-man roster from June 21 to July 10, made six relief appearances with the Sox this season, allowing six earned runs over 6 2/3 innings. He is 5-4 with a 4.21 ERA over 66 1/3 innigs with 50 strikeouts in 22 games including seven starts with the Knights in 2016. He has limited left-handers to a .208 average.

Gonzalez, 32, left his start in Kansas City Thursday night with no outs in the second inning due to the groin injury. He is 2-6 with a 4.05 ERA in 19 appearances (18 starts). He entered last night’s start with a 2.76 ERA and seven quality starts over his previous seven outings.

Beck is the 18th player promoted to the Sox from the Knights this season. The others:
