(GLEN ELLYN) A west suburban man is facing charges of soliciting sex from an undercover detective posing as a 16-year-old on Craigslist.

Kurt Ellinghausen, 47, faces one felony count each of indecent soliciting of a child and grooming, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

Investigators received a tip that Ellinghausen was inquiring about having sexual relations with a minor on Craigslist, according to a statement from prosecutors.

A detective posed as a 16-year-old student and engaged Ellinghausen online, and he negotiated for sexual relations with the “teen,” according to prosecutors.

Ellinghausen, of the 0-100 block of Forest Hill Drive in Glen Ellyn, was taken into custody when he arrived at the location where he was supposed to meet the detective posing as the teenager, according to the statement.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
