Renaissance Social Services is turning to Zumba to help the organization raise money to fight homelessness.

As part of its World Homelessness Week activities, Renaissance will sponsor a Zumba dance party beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12. For the uninitiated, Zumba is a dance-cardio fitness routine done to all sorts of music — Latin, pop, R&B, you name it. It’s good exercise for all levels of people who like to have fun when they sweat.

Zumba’s Kymberlee Kaye Raya and a team of instructors have donated their time for the event, which will be held at Memorial Hall in Lakeview, 1500 W. Belmont (inside the St. Luke Renaissance Church complex).

A donation of $10 or more (cash preferred) is your admission to a fun Sunday. All proceeds will go toward Renaissance’s prevention, housing and support services for the homeless.

Come move those hips for a good cause.
