When Oprah Winfrey lived in Chicago full-time, the TV queen was a real regular at the RL restaurant adjacent to Ralph Lauren’s big Polo store at Michigan and Chicago avenues. Oprah was such a regular that the popular eatery that the corner banquette table has come to be known as “Oprah’s Table” — always saved for her whenever she was a possible diner on a given evening.

So, you can imagine how happy the longtime staff members at RL were Wednesday, when Winfrey quietly slipped in for dinner — and, natch, sat in her cozy booth.

* Earlier this week, the Chicago Bears’ Jon Bostic was the special host at the David Yurman jewelry store on Oak Street to celebrate the launch of the company’s “Forged Carbon” collection of men’s jewelry. Also joining Bostic was his teammate Ryan Mundy, and a portion of the sales from the event went to support the Good Sports charity.
