Boy, 3, hit by car while trick-or-treating in Winnetka

(WINNETKA) A 3-year-old boy was hit by a car when he darted into traffic while trick-or-treating in north suburban Winnetka on Friday evening.

At 5:52 p.m., emergency crews responded to the 1400 block of Asbury Avenue, where the 3-year-old Glencoe boy was struck after running into the street, according to a statement from Winnetka police.

He was taken to Evanston Hospital with injuries that weren’t thought to be life-threatening, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old woman from Winnetka, stayed at the scene and was cooperating with police.

No citations had been issued in connection with the crash as of 10:30 p.m., police said.
