(WOODSTOCK) A northwest suburban woman has been charged with setting fire to the garage of a home from which she was about to be evicted.
Angela M. Hacker, 33, faces felony counts of arson and criminal damage to property, according to a statement from Woodstock police.
About 6 p.m. Oct. 1, Woodstock fire crews were called to the 600 block of Dean Street, where the garage of Hacker’s home was on fire, the statement said. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and determined it had been started with gasoline.
Detectives interviewed Hacker, who was slated to be evicted from her home by Oct. 13, police said. She was arrested on Oct. 3 for starting the fire.
Hacker was ordered held at the McHenry County Jail on a $50,000 bond, police said. She is next due in court on Oct. 16.
