Several people suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a CTA bus Monday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The crash happened in the 700 block of North Central Avenue about 1:30 p.m., police said.

A northbound No. 85 Central bus was stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said.

About seven passengers and the bus driver requested medical attention after the crash for minor injuries, she said.

Police said five ambulances were sent to the scene, but could not immediately confirm how many people were hurt in the crash.
