Kathy Griffin will take over ‘Fashion Police,’ E! confirms

Confirming earlier reports, E! network on Monday named Kathy Griffin as the new host of “Fashion Police,” replacing the late Joan Rivers when the show returns in January for coverage of the Golden Globes.

The couture-criticizing comedy series, which had previously aired weekly, will now present 17 episodes throughout 2015, focusing on high-profile red carpet and fashion events, the cable channel said.

A graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High, Griffin is an actress, comedian and author known for her biting comic style. She won two Emmy Awards for her Bravo reality series, “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.”

“Fashion Police” will welcome back panelists Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic, who will be joined by Brad Goreski, a fashion stylist and lifestyle expert from the Bravo reality show “It’s a Brad Brad World.” He replaces Skokie native George Kotsiopoulos, who leaves the show.

“I get it! These are some big shoes I’m going to fill,” Griffin said in the E! announcement. “Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me. I’m just Kathy. Did I say I’m just Kathy? I meant I’m Kathy F—ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let’s have some fun!”

Rivers’ daughter Melissa Rivers remains an executive producer.

“Fashion Police” has been off the air since Rivers’ death in September at age 81 after complications from surgery.
