Police are talking to a person of interest after a man was stabbed to death Thursday morning in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.

Timothy W. Quirk, 51, was stabbed when an argument turned physical about 6:15 a.m. in the 2200 block of West Farwell, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are speaking to a person of interest and said the incident may be domestic-related.

Both the person of interest and the victim had been drinking, according to a police source. The relationship between the two was not immediately clear.

An autopsy Friday found that Quirk, who lived in the 2200 block of West Farwell, died from a stab wound to the neck, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
