(ELGIN) Someone fired a gun at a man in northwest suburban Elgin early Sunday.

Officers responded at 4:16 a.m. to Lawrence Avenue and Silver Street for a call of shots fired, according to a statement from Elgin police.

A 33-year-old man told investigators he was walking when someone nearby with a gun shot in his direction, police said. No one was hurt.

No description of the possible shooter was provided.
