The man offered money to the children, ages 10 and 12, to lure them away from their home in the 7800 block of South Kilpatrick about 7:10 p.m. on Oct. 5, according to an alert from Chicago Police.

The children’s parent and neighbors saw the man and began chasing him, police said. He was last seen near West 79th and South Kolmar.

The suspect is described as a 150 to 160-pound man between 25 and 30 years old, police said. He is between 5 foot 8 and 6 feet tall with a slender build, short black hair and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white logo.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
