A 22-year-old man was shot while driving Saturday night in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The man was driving with a passenger near 96th Street and Sangamon at 9:42 p.m. when a light-colored car pulled up next to them, police said. An unknown male got out of the car and started shooting toward the other vehicle, striking the 22-year-old in his shoulder, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized.
