A teenage boy was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The 15-year-old was standing with a male acquaintance about 12:40 p.m. on the front porch of a home in the 1100 block of South Francisco. A gray-colored car stopped nearby and someone inside fired, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said. The car then drove away.

The boy was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Sweeney said.
