Woodstock man charged with dealing cocaine in northwest suburbs

(WOODSTOCK) A northwest suburban man accused of dealing cocaine is facing several criminal charges.

Officers conducted an undercover purchase of cocaine on Sept. 26 after receiving a tip about a Woodstock man selling the drug, according to a statement from the McHenry County sheriff’s office.

They then pulled the suspect over near Calhoun and Nebraska Streets in Woodstock.

The driver, Joshua K. Bednarek, was arrested and charged with three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the statement.

He also faces misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

Officers seized about 8.8 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, with a street value of about $880, according to the statement.

Bednarek was ordered held on a $200,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
