SHARE Police: Male tried to abduct 7-year-old in West Englewood

Someone tried to abduct a 7-year-old boy who was walking to school in the West Englewood neighborhood last week, according to police.

The boy was walking to school in the 2000 block of West 73rd Street at 7:35 a.m. Thursday when a male grabbed his backpack as he passed an alley, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The boy pulled away and ran to school, where he reported the incident to staff, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-6 black male with slim build and dark complexion. He was wearing a red Bulls skull cap, red jacket, blue jeans and Timberland boots.
