Three shot on Near West Side

Three people — including a 14-year-old boy — were shot late Saturday night on the Near West Side.

Two men and a teenage boy were standing with a group in the 1700 block of West Lake Street at 11:35 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said. Another group approached them, then someone pulled out a gun and fired shots.

An 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and another 18-year-old man was shot in the leg, Greer said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions had stabilized.

The 14-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the side of his torso, Greer said. He was also taken to Stroger, where he was listed in good condition.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
