A man was seriously hurt in a shooting Sundaynight in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 18-year-old was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 3200 block of North Long about 10:45 p.m. when several males walked up yelling gang slogans, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The man drove away as shots were fired, and he was struck in the shoulder, Greer said. He drove to the 5600 block of West Belmont and notified police.

The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition.
