Democratic Committeeman Ray Lopez has been endorsed for 15th Ward alderman by fellow committeeman and Cook County assessor Joe Berrios.

That conversation came as three of the candidates for alderman in the 15th Ward met with the Chicago Sun-Times editorial board at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, ahead of the Chicago municipal election on Feb. 24.

The 15th Wardincludes the neighborhoods of Englewood, Brighton Park and Back of the Yards – all “marginalized communities,” according to Mondragon. The candidates, who also included Rafael Yanez, discussed education and public safety in the ward, as well as the city’s pension crisis.

You also can hear from them in their own words and read highlights from the discussion, below.
