A man was killed when an SUV hit a light pole and rolled over early Saturday in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 12:45 a.m., the vehicle lost control, struck a light pole then flipped over in the 1100 block of West 111th Street, police said.

A 34-year-old man was found unresponsive outside the SUV and later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries in the accident. His name was being withheld Saturday evening pending notification of family.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is handling the case.
