SHARE Man shot walks into Mercy Hospital

A man walked into Mercy Hospital and Medical Center Sunday morning after claiming he was shot in the Southwest Side Archer Heights neighborhood.

The 21-year-old was shot in the thigh and walked into Mercy Hospital at 7:15 a.m., police said. He was in good condition.

The man told investigators he was shot at 5:47 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Kostner, but Area Central detectives are still investigating to confirm that location.

About 6:25 a.m., trains in both directions began to be delayed because of frozen switches near Cicero Avenue and Congress Parkway.
