Sarah McLachlan to make Chicago Symphony debut

Acclaimed singer and songwriter Sarah McLachlan — a three-time Grammy winner who has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide — will make her debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, performing with members of the CSO at its 26th annual “Corporate Night” benefit concert. The June 16 event at Symphony Center will also mark McLachlan’s only Chicago area appearance this season. She made her first joint concert with a symphony orchestra in 2011 — a show performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver.

Among McLachlan’s big hits are “Building a Mystery,” “Adia,” “World on Fire,” and “Sweet Surrender.” Her “Shine On” tour, continuing through April 1, supports her recent release of the same name.

Sean O’Loughlin will conduct the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for the concert. The event will be chaired by CSO trustee David P. Hackett.
