Northern Illinois’ Pete Rakocevic, who starred locally at St. Laurence, threw down a monstrous dunk on Saturday night vs. Central Michigan. The force from the dunk caused the basket stanchion to slowly descend. Problem was Central Michigan forward John Simons was under the basket inbounding the ball as the basket nearly came crashing down on his head. Simons ducked and dodged what could have been a horrific moment.
