A downstate man has been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.
Timothy B. Saxton, 37, was arrested Tuesday at his home in Wilsonville in Macoupin County, according to a statement from Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office.
He was charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography, according to the statement. His bond was set at $100,000.
“Child pornography is not a victimless crime,” Madigan said in the statement. “Every time these horrific images are spread online, it perpetuates the sexual assault of children. With each Operation Glass House arrest, we are sending a message that we will be relentless in our efforts to investigate, arrest and imprison offenders.”
The operation, which targets the most active child pornography offenders in the state, has netted 75 arrests since its inception in 2010.
