Two people – including a 15-year-old boy – were wounded Saturday afternoon at the same time in separate South Side shootings.
The shootings, which did not appear to be related, happened at 4:23 p.m. about a mile apart in the Auburn Gresham and West Englewood neighborhoods, police said.
The 15-year-old was sitting in the back seat of a vehicle in the 7000 block of South Laflin when a black SUV pulled up, and someone inside fired shots, police said. The teen was shot in the leg and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.
In the other shooting, an 18-year-old man was shot in the hand in the 7600 block of South Hermitage, but additional details were not available, police said. He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was in good condition.
