Police: Man tried to lure two girls into SUV on SW Side

Police are warning Southwest Side residents after a man tried to lure two girls into his black SUV Saturday in the West Elsdon neighborhood.

The man tried to lure two girls into his vehicle in the 5800 block of South Kostner about 4 p.m., according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

He then drove around the block, waited for the girls to appear and asked again if they needed a ride, police said. The girls ran into a business and called police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 35 and 45 years old with black hair and a mustache. He was wearing a royal blue shirt or sweat shirt and drove a black SUV, possibly a Jeep.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (312) 747-8380.
