A man was shot after someone fired nine rounds toward him as he sat in a vehicle Saturday night in the North Side Uptown neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 9:07 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Malden, police said.

A 28-year-old man was sitting passenger in the vehicle when a male walked up and fired about nine shots before running off, police said.

The victim was shot multiple times and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
