A Naperville man charged Thursday with possessing child pornography has been ordered held on a $300,000 bond.

Lafayette Riley, 26, faces four felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office.

Naperville police started investigating in April after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children passed along a tip about child pornography stored online in Google Drive, prosecutors said.

The investigation led authorities to Riley, who was arrested Thursday after authorities searched his home in the 700 block of Inland Circle and found the images on his computer, police and prosecutors said.

Authorities also claim Riley had numerous pairs of girls’ underwear that he took from his building’s laundry room, prosecutors said.

“Child pornography is not a victimless crime,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said in a prepared statement. “Each one of the images and videos allegedly possessed by Mr. Riley depicting child pornography represents the sexual assault of yet another young victim.”

Riley was ordered held on a $300,000 bond Friday during a hearing at the Wheaton courthouse, the state’s attorney’s office said. He will next appear in court June 15.

If Riley posts bail, he will not be allowed to have contact with any children under 18, have a computer or access the Internet, the state’s attorney’s office said.
