A man and a woman were shot while driving Sunday morning in the South Side West Englewood neighborhood.

The man, 23, was driving southbound in the 6700 block of South Bishop at 10:30 a.m. when a gray minivan pulled up, and someone inside opened fire, police said. The van then drove off.

The 23-year-old was shot multiple times, while a 24-year-old woman riding passenger in his vehicle was shot in the leg, police said.

The man drove to Holy Cross Hospital, from where he was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital. He was in critical condition Sunday afternoon, police said.

The woman was being treated for her leg wound at Holy Cross, where she was in good condition, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
