Teen shot in South Austin

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg Sunday evening in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Quincy, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
