A 19-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday in the South Shore neighborhood.

About 1:25 a.m., Demetrius P. Hill Jr. was shot in the head in the hallway of a building in the 6800 block of South Ridgeland, officials said.

Hill, of the 7100 block of South Constance, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the medical examiner’s office said.
