Bulls, Blackhawks and Kris Bryant boost Chicago sports apparel sales

Chicago sports fans have a lot to be excited about right now, and apparel retailers are just as giddy.

The Bulls are in the second round of the NBA playoffs and secured a huge Game 1 win over the Cavaliers. The Blackhawks hold a 2-0 lead over the Wild in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Rookie sensation Kris Bryant has spurred the Cubs to a month of winning baseball, and a new Bears front office and head coach hopes to restore order at Halas Hall.

The interest in Chicago sports is evident at sports apparel retailer, which reports an 86 percent surge in Blackhawks gear since the playoffs began. Patrick Kane is the best-selling NHL jersey during that time, and teammate Jonathan Toews clocks in at No. 3.

Bulls merchandise is up 50 percent since the start of the NBA postseason, and Derrick Rose is the fourth best-selling jersey in that time.

Chicago is the No. 2 market in sales behind only New York City since the start of the NBA and NHL playoffs, and Chicago sports merchandise has been purchased in all 50 states.

Here are the top five best-selling jerseys in the Chicago market since the start of the NBA/NHL postseason:

1. Jonathan Toews

2. Patrick Kane

3. Kris Bryant

4. Jimmy Butler
