One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Sunday night in south suburban Robbins.

About 10 p.m., 20-year-old Damarkus Christmas was shot several times in front of a home in the 4100 block of West 135th Place, according to a statement from Robbins police.

Christmas, of the 4100 block of West 136th Place in Robbins, was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The other man injured in the shooting, a 21-year-old from Robbins, was shot once in each leg, police said. He was also taken to MetroSouth with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

No one was in custody as of early Monday afternoon. Anyone with information should call Robbins police at (708) 385-4123.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
