A 16-year-old boy was shot and seriously injured in an Englewood drive-by early Thursday on the South Side.

About 2 a.m., he was walking in the 5800 block of South Green when someone opened fire from a passing vehicle, police said.

He was struck in the the right side of his lower back and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
