A North Carolina woman has been charged with prostitution after offering to perform a sex act on an undercover cop in northwest suburban South Elgin, according to police.

Investigators received a tip about prostitution occurring at Golden Spa at 1274 W. Spring St., according to South Elgin police.

Son Yong, 58, was arrested Wednesday after offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer in exchange for money, a statement from police said.

Yong, of Gibsonville, N.C., was charged with one count of prostitution and released later that day, police said. She is expected to appear in court in Elgin on July 20.
