Work starts this week on a project to renovate two 7-Eleven stores at the Des Plaines Oasis on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway.

The convenience stores along the eastbound and westbound exit roads of I-90 at the oasis will remain open throughout construction, according to a statement from Illinois Tollway officials.

When the project is finished this fall, the expanded stores will have additional restrooms, more parking and new picnic areas, the tollway said.

Temporary trailers will have men’s, women’s and ADA-compliant restrooms while construction is underway, the tollway said.

A lease agreement with 7-Eleven provides investment in capital improvements at the Des Plaines Oasis at no cost to the tollway, the agency said.
