A 19-year-old man was shot in the back of the head Sunday morning in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 5:20 a.m., he was sitting in a vehicle parked in the 5200 block of South Talman when a gunman walked up from behind the car and fired into it, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

A friend drove the man to Holy Cross Hospital, and he later was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
