Police are warning residents of west suburban Glendale Heights after a man tried to drag an 8-year-old girl away from her home Sunday afternoon.

The girl reported that she was playing in front of her home in the 200 block of Water’s Edge when a male approached, grabbed her and tried to drag her away, according to Glendale Heights police.

She was able to break free and scream, and the male ran away westbound, police said.

He was described as a black male, with a bald head except for a tuft of hair on the back of his head, police said. He was wearing all black clothing.
