An Elgin man is charged with home invasion after forcing his way into an ex’s home early Monday.

Mario G. Sanchez, 27, is charged with home invasion, criminal trespass, domestic battery and interfering with reporting domestic violence, Elgin police said.

About 12:30 a.m., Sanchez forced his way into a home in the 100 block of Channing Street and got into a scuffle with two people inside, police said.

Sanchez was the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims, and was “upset” with his ex, police said. Both victims sustained minor arm injuries, police said.

Responding officers arrested Sanchez in the front yard of the home. He was scheduled to appear for a bond hearing in Kane County court on Tuesday.
