Two people were killed and at least eight other were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Thursday afternoon and early Friday.

The latest fatal shooting happened about 10 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn on the South Side.

Kimythe Hubbard, 17, was walking in the 6600 block of South Blackstone just after 10 p.m. when a gunman walked up and shot him repeatedly, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hubbard, of the 2900 block of South King Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:24 p.m., authorities said.

Just over an hour earlier, a northwest Indiana man was shot to death in Back of the Yards.

About 8:45 p.m., Jovan Dovantae Hopkins was walking in the 5200 block of South Emerald when someone walked out of a nearby gangway and opened fire, authorities said.

The shooter then jumped in a vehicle, which sped away, police said.

Hopkins was shot in the upper body and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 9:33 p.m. He was from the 4900 block of Walsh Avenue in East Chicago, Ind.

A police source said the man was a documented gang member.

In the latest nonfatal attack, an intoxicated man walked into a Wicker Park hospital with a gunshot wound early Friday.

About 4:45 a.m., the 23-year-old walked into Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center with a graze wound to his right hip, police said.

He told police that he was shot in the 1500 block of North Damen, but officers were not able to find a crime scene, police said. There were also no calls of shots fired from the busy three-way intersection all night.

His condition had stabilized early Friday, police said.

About 2:15 a.m., a 17-year-old girl was shot and critically wounded in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The teen was standing outside with a group of people in the 6400 block of South Artesian when she heard shots ring out and felt pain, police said.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. She was listed in critical condition.

About an hour earlier, a 26-year-old man was walking in the 5100 block of West Madison when he was shot in the arm, police said. A friend took him t West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition had stabilized.

About 12:15 a.m., a man and woman were shot in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.

They were standing outside in the 10200 block of South State when someone got out of a white vehicle and opened fire, police said. The vehicle then drove away.

The 33-year-old man was shot in the foot and taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Greer said. The woman’s age wasn’t known because she declined medical treatment for a graze wound to her leg and left the scene.

Police said the shooting might have been gang-related.

About 8 p.m., a 62-year-old man was walking in the 0 – 100 block of East 100th Place when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the leg, police said. He was taken in good condition to Roseland Community Hospital.

A 32-year-old man was shot in the back about 7 p.m. in the 200 block of North Homan in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said.

Someone took him to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.

A man was shot during a robbery Thursday afternoon in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

About 3:45 p.m., the 19-year-old was shot in the ankle during a robbery in the 5000 block of West Irving Park, police said.

He was taken in good condition to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, police said.
