There is breaking news about plans for a new home for TimeLine Theater.
On Monday night, 40th Ward Alderman Pat OConnor’s website announced that Svigos Development has been named the winner of the bidding process to purchase the shuttered Trumbull School at Foster and Ashland in the Andersonville neighborhood.
The intent is for Svigos to partner with TimeLine, the hugely successful theater company that has outgrown its Lakeview area home at 615 W. Wellington, to occupy the building’s first floor, with residential units on the floors above.
Over the past year, TimeLine had forged a relationship with another developer, Howard Weiner and Chicago Development Partners (CDP). But during the bidding process it learned that CDP was not one of the top bidders, so it began conversations with Svigos within the past couple of weeks.
The Chicago Board of Education has now notified Svigos that it was the highest bidder and requested renderings.
Meanwhile, TimeLine Theatre is gearing up to open its Fall production, Arthur Miller’s “The Price,” on Thursday.
