When the Bulls made power forward Bobby Portis their No. 1 pick in the draft, they extolled his work ethic and toughness.

“We’ve had people just rave about his work ethic, how hard he plays, his makeup, his character and we really like his game,” Bulls GM Gar Forman said in June.

Sounds like Taj Gibson took notice. The Bulls’ sixth-year power forward has been working out with UFC fighter Brendan Schaub in the offseason.

Gibson, 30, has been rehabbing from offseason ankle surgery and is hoping to be ready in time for the season.
