Man, 18, critically wounded in Volo motorcycle crash

An 18-year-old man was thrown off a motorcycle and critically wounded in north suburban Volo Thursday night.

About 7:15 p.m., the man was riding a motorcycle north on Singing Hills Drive south of Niagara Drive when he lost control while braking, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office. The man was not wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was listed in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
